About Heather Mundell
I founded Dream Big Coaching Services in 2003 and have been helping professionals make important career and life decisions ever since. Coaching is one of the most powerful ways I know to express my unique talents and skills. The connection and rapport I create with my clients and the meaningful changes that my clients make in their lives fuel my passion for the profession of coaching. Clients and mentors have described my coaching as frank, insightful, funny and warm. It's a privilege and an honor for me to partner with my clients to help them achieve their dreams.
Professional Background
I have a background in corporate HR leadership which gives me insight and grounding for many of the issues that my clients bring to my coaching business. I have extensive knowledge about hiring practices, job search techniques and interview skills.
I also have a professional background in parenting, having spent five years as a full-time parent at home before becoming a coach. I have a personal understanding of and compassion for the particular joys and challenges that enter my clients' lives when they pursue parenting or make career decisions that impact their family lives.
Educational Background
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from Smith College, where I graduated with honors. I place a high value on my liberal arts education and bring a love of learning, discovery and creativity to my coaching business.
Service
I have always valued volunteering time to service organizations with goals and results that move me. Over the years, I have been a literacy tutor, a mentor for transitioning from welfare to work, and a support group leader for new parents. Currently, I volunteer as the life coach for FamilyWorks, a family resource center and food bank in Seattle.
Coaching Certification
I received my certification as a professional coach from the Academy for Coach Training, a training organization accredited by the International Coach Federation (ICF). I am a member of the ICF and have agreed to abide by their code of ethics.
