1. Use a nylon brush for porcelain grills

Not all grills are made of stainless steel, because there are also those that use iron coated porcelain. Compared to stainless steel, porcelain iron is a better heat transfer material. It’s because of different ingredients, you can’t use the same method when cleaning it.

Use a nylon brush when the grill is still hot. Avoid using an iron brush that can erode the porcelain layer. Rinse and brush again if there is still dirt left behind.

2. Allow to cool, soak in soapy water, and use a soft scourer

For porcelain iron grills, you should also be careful not to clean them in a dishwasher or use coarsely textured soap. Although the ability to deliver heat is very good and rust resistant, the porcelain layer must be kept well so as not to peel off.

You can let the temperature of the grilling device go down first and then soak it in soapy water. Rub the surface with a gentle scouring tool such as a sponge or toothbrush. If the dirt is still sticky, soak it again and brush.
